This was a Grant redeck project that included both a porch and a deck.  Some before and during construction pictures are included to get an idea of the extreme makeover. We reinstalled the new screen beneath the porch decking. The old decking was 1 ½” thick cedar decking, and the latest composite decking is 1” thick, creating some design challenges.  Another challenge was constructing proper support for the upper stair landing for the spiral staircase after we installed the new railing. The old railing was connected to the central center pole, providing support, so we knew this might have to be modified to create new support, which we did from below.

The entire main decking and drink rail is Trex Transcend decking in Havana Gold color and the railings consist of black and white Westbury C-10 aluminum railings, a very unique and classy design.  Joist tape was applied prior to the decking to help protect the joists and prevent water infiltration and the acceleration of wood deterioration. This was quite a large deck and porch building project, and the improvement was not just significant but truly transformative—another fantastic job by Jerry, Ezequiel and Hernan.
