The existing porch supports were resting on top of the old wood decking, so we had to carefully jack up the porch to install the new decking boards. As usual, the stair stringers were replaced to meet the current decking specifications, which inspectors monitor closely. About a year later, we returned to replace a few boards that had been scratched by roofers during their project.
