We covered the joists with butyl joist tape, replaced any needed joists and installed the new decking. Stairs are entirely removed and the stringers are recut as the spacing requirements for composite is more strict. The stair midlanding was so rotten we just replaced it along with the diamond pier footings once we saw there was NONE!
