We applied butyl joist tape to the joists, replaced any compromised lumber, and installed the new composite decking. The stairs were fully removed and rebuilt with recut stringers to meet composite spacing codes. Once we discovered the stair midlanding was completely rotted—with no proper footings—we replaced it entirely, installing new diamond pier footings for long-term stability.
