We used Diamond Pier DP-50 footings, and during demolition, we discovered that the old deck had been improperly attached to the exterior of the old siding. Additionally, we found that the floor trusses ran parallel to the side of the house where the deck was attached, which did not allow for a proper positive connection. To resolve this, we installed three new footings and a beam adjacent to the house to provide the necessary structural support. We staggered the support posts to ensure they didn’t obstruct access to the lower patio door.
