Grant, MN Redecking Project

This Grant, MN Redecking Project involved a complete transformation of both a porch and a deck, showcasing a dramatic before-and-after makeover. Some before and during construction photos highlight the extent of the changes. We reinstalled the new screen beneath the porch decking. The old decking was 1 ½” thick cedar, while the new composite decking was only 1” thick, which introduced some design challenges. Another issue we tackled was creating proper support for the upper stair landing of the spiral staircase after the new railing was installed. The original railing had been attached to the central pole for support, so we modified the structure and added new support from below to ensure safety and stability.

The entire main decking and drink rail is Trex Transcend decking in Havana Gold color and the railings consist of black and white Westbury C-10 aluminum railings, a very unique and classy design.  Joist tape was applied prior to the decking to help protect the joists and prevent water infiltration and the acceleration of wood deterioration. This was quite a large deck and porch building project, and the improvement was not just significant but truly transformative—another fantastic job by Jerry, Ezequiel and Hernan.

The success of this Grant redeck project highlights our commitment to delivering exceptional craftsmanship and innovative solutions to complex challenges.
